“Longboarding”…
December 7, 2009
…is officially the most searched term that leads curious minds to my blog. In fact, I see it so often searched in my counter, that I’m starting to think longboarding is picking up; I think it’s becoming a movement.
Well done all.
Well done.
Of course what I’m thinking about could be a far cry away, but it’s good to see some progressive motions. People are getting past the Sector Nines and Zumiez culture, and starting to really sift through all the stereo-trash muck to find the world of longboarding outside of the oh-so easily accessible mainstream (it’s called mainstream for a reason). People are getting curious. And curiosity is good for growth.
Enjoy this video, and to those fortunate enough to still have a skate season at this time of the year: be thankful.

And I don’t care what you think.
Twin Realities.

Teetering on the edge of oblivion,
The open mouth of the world below
Gnashing its teeth,
Reaching for me
Retreating from me
Under the harsh glow of the sun.
It gasps in starving anticipation for the
Inevitable fall.
My fall.
Gravity is cruel.
My arms cling to my legs
As they become one.
My eyes see nothing
But the lids which cover them.
Feet grip ground,
Face buried in the overlapping
Fold of the arms which hide;
Suspension in the weight of the world
A mere ball of flesh.
They used to call me man.
Cries of the songbird
Remind me of a life once lived.
The distant shores of memories
Long gone penetrate my mind.
The waves crash against the rocks of ruin through which I so fervently navigated. The warm sand cakes itself to my feet as the calm wind steals the footsteps I left behind in silence. My hair carries the still-luminous ocean water down my face, my bare body, my fingers, while I stand in reflective silence. The sun sets on the horizon of the sea I set out for so long ago.
It is always sunset here.
A full moon hangs onto a
Black sky without stars.
Cold concrete against my back as
Clouds roll along the ground.
Clamor surrounds
The calloused bodies who move
Without emotion,
Without direction.
Lost amidst the chaos,
I meander into ruin’s wake
Without string.
I cannot shut my eyes.
There is no sun,
There is no beach on the opposite horizon.
I have fallen;
Yet I exist.
I am consumed.
Life.

Don’t get too excited, now.
Wow. What up wordpress (/very small random number of daily viewers redirected to this blog via search engine terms)? It has been a while; a long while indeed–
Everything is well.
Everything is right.
Everything is good.
Finally.
I’ve been waiting for so long…
I knew I’d be right in the end.
Oh, and yes, it’s as sweet as I thought it would be.
It’s exactly how I thought it would be.
